Distinguish completed technology from a product put into practical use

For NET (New Excellent Technology), first examine whether the technology is fully developed and supported by quantitative demonstration evidence. For NEP (New Excellent Product), examine whether practical use of the product incorporating the technology and evidence of its performance and quality are ready. A fixed sequence between the two schemes is not suitable for every company. Compare eligible and excluded categories with the applicable rules and the notice for the relevant application round.

Organize the technology explanation and product evidence separately

Technology materials should describe the problem solved, how the structure or process differs from existing approaches, and the history of development and validation. Product materials should connect the models to be submitted, their uses, accredited laboratory test reports and evidence of actual use or sales. If the product in the performance table differs from the model identified in the test report, explain that relationship first.

Patent materials help establish the rights and relevant content associated with the technology. A granted patent does not automatically provide evidence of product performance or quality management. Separately check the relationship between the invention and the technology submitted, the rights holder and authorization to use it.

Obtain missing materials before proceeding

Inventory the materials already available under technology, product, testing, rights and quality management. For missing or inconsistent items, specify the tests and checks needed. For products such as food or medical devices, where exclusion may be an issue, verify the current scope rules before preparing promotional copy.
